- that the
Chamber Concert Ushers meet, greet and seat guests
at the Toledo Club performances are from the Toledo
Symphony League. Four ushers are at each concert.
- that the
League volunteers provide the food and beverages for
the Community Music Lesson Recital Receptions each
year. Volunteers set up, clean up, and tear down
for each reception.
- that the
Remembrance Fund scholarships are awarded to Toledo
Junior Youth Orchestra musicians and scholarships
are also awarded to Toledo Youth Orchestra
musicians. The League plays a key role in fostering
the talent of these young musicians each year. “In
memory of” and “in honor of” donations are placed
into this fund administered by the Remembrance Fund
Committee. Several of the named scholarships are
endowed and are awarded annually.

- the
Annual TSL Showcase of the Arts has over 1600
entries from 18 teachers at 15 schools in Northwest
Ohio. An awards reception is held immediately
following the awards presentation ceremony. League
volunteers coordinate this event including judging,
display, set up, tear down, and provide ribbon and
rosette awards.
- that we
provide a summer study grant for a member(s) of the
Toledo Symphony Orchestra.
- that the
Manager of the Toledo Youth Orchestra’s is an active
League member. She is responsible for preparation
at rehearsals and assists the coordination for all
of the auditions of both of the Orchestra’s and
auditions for Remembrance Fund scholarships.

- that
local young musicians compete in the Young Artists'
Competition and winners are chosen to receive
financial awards from the League and the privilege
to perform with the Toledo Symphony at a Family
Concert during the concert season. Applicants have
traveled from Ann Arbor, Findlay, Sandusky and all
the way from the Indiana border.
- that
League volunteers support the Young People's
Concerts each year. Over 25 members usher at every
concert at two back-to-back performances for each
date. The concerts are performed by the Toledo
Symphony Orchestra and are carefully designed for a
“learning through listening” experience for over
12,000 students each season. The logistics behind
the scene are almost impossible to describe.
- that we
honor the Toledo Symphony Orchestra musicians at an
Orchestra Appreciation Dinner each May between the
rehearsal and Pops concert. The League members
provide the food, coordinating the meal for the TSO
musicians and then tear down before the first guest
arrives for the concert.
